The city of Chesterfield plans to put a use tax on the April 4 Municipal Election ballot but voters won't see an added sales tax on recreational marijuana. At its Jan. 17 meeting, the City Council voted against putting a 3% recreational marijuana sales tax on the ballot and instead voted to postpone it indefinitely. During the agenda review meeting, council members concurred that it might compete with the proposed use tax issue.Only council member Barbara McGuinness (Ward 1) was opposed to the  postponement.
